POSITION TITLE: Research Technician
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Calibr global health team is seeking a highly motivated research technician to support a drug discovery program for cryptosporidiosis. Under this role, the ideal candidate will work in a team environment to support the execution of key high-throughput assays, maintain cell culture lines, and assist with in vivo sample processing as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Perform general lab duties
- Regular maintenance of mammalian cell lines, preparation of media and reagents
- Handling of BSL2 pathogens
- Support and execution of in vitro assays
- Processing of samples from in vivo studies
- Data analysis and lab notebook documentation
- Other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and up to one (1) year of related experience. Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Organizational skills and ability to function as an integral team member providing technical support on multiple fronts in the laboratory. Expertise in Microsoft Office suite. Great attention to detail, troubleshooting capability and flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
