2022 Tax Busy Season Internship

Ideal candidates will be a Senior or Junior level Accounting Major at an accredited College or University with the ability to reside in Montgomery County/DC Metro Area for the length of the Internship (housing will not be provided).

The duration of the internship will be from early January 2022 through late March 2022. A typical work schedule will be 20+ hours per week.

The primary function of this internship will be for you to gain exposure to Tax Services within public accounting. You will be guided directly by a Manager or Senior in our Tax Practice and be able to participate in hands-on work to learn about financial statements and the tax implications of business transactions. We seek energetic and motivated students who are truly curious and interested in honing their skills to pursue a career in Tax in the DC Metro Area post-graduation.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with advising clients on a wide range of corporate and federal tax issues, various duties to include tax research and planning, compliance, consulting, and business transaction structuring services
  • Communicate with engagement manager, partner, and client to discuss tax accounting matters
  • Meet client service expectations through adhering to time budgets and maintaining positive client communications
  • Gain an understanding of Firm policies, procedures, and professional standards through observation, inquiry and adherence to them
  • Demonstrate positive attitude towards Firm and profession
  • Represent Firm in a favorable and professional manner
  • Develop initiative, interpersonal skills, and practical application of technical knowledge
  • Performance of other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor and other Firm management as required
  • Confidentiality of Firm and client information is critical


Requirements:


  • A strong interest in beginning a career in public accounting upon receiving your undergraduate degree
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA strongly preferred with equal or stronger performance in your Accounting, Finance or related Business major
  • Able to work part-time, for a minimum of 20 hours per week from January to late March
  • Participation in extracurricular activities and demonstration of leadership abilities
  • Sharp analytical skills enhanced by a commitment to professional development
  • Desire to work closely with engagement teams to provide exceptional service to clients
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous hands-on public accounting internship experience is preferred
