Data Scientist

Since our inception in 2017, Group K Diagnostics (GKD), has been focused on building a first in class diagnostic solution that will revolutionize patient health care. The Clinical Data Scientist works closely with Research Scientists to optimize the image processing capabilities of
the proprietary software platform using knowledge of clinical health data. Data analysis and image processing will
be central responsibilities, while also ensuring any updates meet FDA requirements for medical devices. This
professional will organize and analyze data to ensure continuous product development improvements. The
Clinical Data Scientist will also manage the integrity of all healthcare data and provide guidance relating to HIPAA
compliance.


Responsibilities include:
  • Apply knowledge of healthcare data to identify trends and develop solutions based on products being developed
  • by the company.
  • Develop product-specific data management plans that address areas including coding, analytics, transfer of
  • data, database locks, and process workflows.
  • Serve as a company lead for company-wide data science operations including machine learning and artificial
  • intelligence-related responsibilities to support product development.
  • Ensure data integrity, create and maintain databases that store electronic data.
  • Design and develop machine learning-based solutions to detect the color change for medical diagnostics
  • purposes.
  • Manage and maintain various company-wide software services on Amazon AWS.
  • Build a fully automated data science/ machine learning pipeline that handles the data gathering, data cleaning,
  • data exploration, model training, model validation, and model reproducibility.
  • Analyze data to identify and resolve operational problems, develop and document data management
  • procedures.
  • Develop procedures for data management including scalable and privacy-preserving HIPAA compliant data
  • solutions for product development.
  • Ensure the software & data platform meets FDA requirements for Class II medical devices.
  • Monitor work productivity or quality to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Manage databases and develop new solutions for our software platforms.
  • Apply data analytics knowledge and experience in combination with analytical and programming skills for
  • product innovation.
  • Work and communicate with technical and non-technical employees in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • Masters in Data Science or related discipline. OR
  • Bachelors Degree in Technology, Informatics, Data Science or related discipline and four or more years of previous experience analyzing health care or clinical health data for research or commercial purposes.
  • Two or more years experience data cleaning, data exploration, data modeling & validation.
  • Two or more years of industry experience in building, developing and deploying machine learning models.
  • Previous experience in statistical modeling and analysis.
  • Should be able to work independently, towards research and development of ML models for GKD’s needs.
  • Should be experienced with multimedia and RAW image data based processing at large scale.
  • Useful languages: OpenCV, python, C++, ZSH, BASH, AWS Cloud, NodeJS

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of Python and object-oriented programming.
  • Working knowledge of the following: GitHub, AWS ecosystem (S3, lambda, EC2), Python machine learning
  • libraries (scikit-learn, numpy, scipy, pandas, seaborn, matplotlib) and OpenCV.
  • Moderate knowledge of Core data science principles, deep learning, and big data analytics.
  • Moderate knowledge of machine learning and data mining related algorithms.
