The mission of Citizens of the World Los Angeles (CWC LA) is to provide a socio-economically, culturally, and racially diverse community of students in Los Angeles with an intellectually challenging, experiential learning environment that develops each student's confidence, potential, and individual responsibility as citizens of the world. CWC LA has a Regional Support Office that supports all CWC LA schools. We work with our network partners at Citizens of the World Charter Schools (CWC Schools), linking the schools in Los Angeles to CWC schools in other parts of the country.

Position Overview
CWC LA is looking for a leader with a true passion for data and a deep understanding of how to lead change within the organization using that data. The Coordinator of Data & Analytics shares responsibility for all student-level data across the region and related core functions, including SIS, CALPADS, compliance, reporting, knowledge management, data warehousing, and analytics. The Coordinator of Data & Analytics will collaborate closely with school principals, teachers, counselors, office staff, school operation team leads, and regional support office staff to ensure all student data is highly accurate and optimally utilized in instruction, operations, and organizational decisions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an excellent collaborator, a creative problem solver, and have a successful track record working closely with stakeholders throughout an organization. He/she/they should also be closely aligned to the CWC LA vision and contribute to an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. The Coordinator of Data & Analytics will report directly to and serve as a thought partner to the Director of Data & Analytics.


Responsibilities

Data & Data Systems
  • Supports student information system (Aeries) including collection and management of student data.
  • Assists in management of CWC data warehouse, including system integration and timely uploads of key organizational data.
  • Supports student data collection processes, including:
  • Coaching and optimally leveraging Data Coordinators.
  • Training organizational staff, including new hires, on data systems & processes
  • Facilitating weekly data audits.
  • Cleans and analyzes data used for critical aspects of CWC LA’s strategic plan using different tools like Excel, SQL, Tableau and/or Python.
  • Troubleshoots issues as needed, with timely resolution.
  • Assists in the set up, implementation and/or integration of new data systems for school site management including account creation and security privileges for a wide variety of information systems.
  • Provides technical support for adopted applications, including CWC LA’s assessment system.
  • Serves as an exemplar in use of key CWC LA tools & applications.
 
Compliance & Reporting
  • Assists in completion of all federal, state, local, and foundation reporting submissions, including CALPADS, SARC, & CRDC.
  • Assists in attendance reporting and master scheduling.
  • Supports LAUSD Oversight preparation based on functional areas of responsibility.
  • Builds relationships with and serves as a key contact for all data compliance-related points of contact.
  • Reviews, detects, and monitors for compliance with all laws and regulations.
 
 Analytics
  • Works closely with the Director of Data & Analytics and other key stakeholders to develop regional and school site dashboards focused on annual academic & operational KPIs/targets.
  • Creates robust & timely reporting structure around interim and state assessments and associated processes (e.g., EL reclassification)
  • Assists in organizational transition to enterprise visualization tools; leverages data warehouse, when possible, in support of this transition.
  • Serves as an exemplar in use of visualization tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate work experience
  • Experience with conducting data analysis required; familiarity with and use of Tableau, Python, and other BI or data science tools a plus
  • Experience with CALPADS strongly preferred; experience with Aeries (SIS) a plus
  • Willingness to learn new skills/ tools quickly and function effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Enthusiasm to problem solve and improve efficiency of existing processes
  • Flexible, optimistic approach, and comfort with change and ambiguity
  • Patient and detail-oriented; cares deeply about ensuring data quality

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000
