Forensic Accounting Associate - Fall 2022 (22913BR)

The Insurance Risk & Recovery Associate is responsible for being involved and participating in compiling and analyzing documents to BDO’s Insurance Risk & Recovery practice engagements and other fraud investigative practice assignments as necessary.
Essential Duties/Functions :
- Assists in the preparation of client work products including lost profits and damages calculations
- Participates in the quantification of client matters including property damage and business interruption insurance claims, product recall claims, data breaches/cyber security insurance claims, and other matters as required
- Interacts with client contacts at the appropriate levels
- Participates in engagement fact finding, including the review of financial records and discussions with client contacts
- Analyzes financial information to establish and support client claims
- Prepares financial schedules and client work products to demonstrate key findings and conclusions
- At the direction of practice leadership, researches new business opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or other relevant field, required

Experience:
- Internship experience in Finance, Accounting and/or professional client services role, required

License/Certifications:
- Actively pursuing CPA certification, required

Software:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, required

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and basic research skills related to the retrieval and organization of high volumes of information, especially financial data
- Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines
- Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
