Individual Gifts & Event Manager

InnerCity Weightlifting’s mission is to reduce gun violence by amplifying the voice and agency of people who have been most impacted by systemic racism and mass incarceration. We partner with program participants through case management and careers in and beyond personal training. Individuals are elevated as experts in fitness and the social issues they've lived. Position Overview: The Individual Gifts & Events Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Development in managing the donor cultivation process: identification, research & qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. This individual will identify and cultivate relationships with mid-level and major gift donors, and craft donor communications strategies. The Individual Gifts & Events Manager will also lead the planning of our annual events and campaigns, including our Fittest Company Challenge and GivingTuesday, and plan new events/campaigns that will increase awareness and generate philanthropic revenue for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level and major individual donors, prospects, and corporate sponsors, both independently as well as collaboratively with other team members
  • Identify, evaluate, cultivate, solicit, and steward Elexson’s Club donors (individuals who give over $1K annually)
  • Prepare meaningful and effective communications with donors and prospects, including quarterly reports
  • Assist the Director of Development in creating individual donor engagement strategies
  • Manage ICW’s donor management system in Network for Good and partner with our Data Coordinator to build out/strengthen our donor management system in Salesforce
  • Leverage personal and corporate training client base to generate more individual donors
  • Shape and oversee the calendar of fundraising events and campaigns
  • Serve as the lead planner for all annual events, including the Fittest Company Challenge, Summer Workout, 5K and Civic Discussion Series, as well as fundraising campaigns, including GivingTuesday, May Matching Campaign, Peer-to-Peer fundraisers, holiday auction/raffle, and in-kind gift drives
  • Engage and collaborate with other team members across the organization to build out a robust fundraising strategy

Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years professional experience preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in professional fundraising (or related field) preferred
  • Event management experience preferred
  • Proven track record in relationship management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Project management skills
  • Highly organized to keep up with multiple priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members
  • Commitment to social and racial justice and passionate about ICW’s mission
