Project Manager
The American Battlefield Trust, the nation’s premier historic land preservation nonprofit, seeks a Project Manager to work with landowners, partner organizations, government grant sources, and other Trust staff to complete land preservation projects, including conservation easements and fee simple transactions.
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)
Job Classification: Full-Time; Exempt
Department: Land Preservation
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Initial outreach and communication with landowners
- Contract negotiation for potential preservation transactions
- Coordinating due diligence and feasibility analysis
- Managing real estate transaction closings
- Developing and executing property disposition strategies
- Communicating with local preservation groups and state and federal funding sources
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- B.A./B.S. degree is required; an M.A., MBA or J.D. is preferred
- At least three (3) years’ experience in real estate transactions, project management, or related work
- Ability to establish excellent working relationships with partner organizations and teammates at the Trust and meet project deadlines
- Superior writing skills
- Willingness to travel
- Land preservation experience is a plus
- Interest in the preservation of American historic battlefield sites
- Salary is commensurate with experience
