Data Specialist (Remote) 25129

The Temporary Data Specialist performs tasks needed to support the operations of the Project Tracking (PT) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. PT is used for tracking information about projects and measures completed by customers. CRM is used for tracking information about customers – both accounts (companies) and contacts (people) – and sites. In conjunction with staff, the individual in this position will support efforts to identify and track improve data quality issues. In addition, the individual in this position will gather information, perform research, perform analysis, enter data into necessary fields, and apply business rules to clean up data in PT and CRM.

  • Please note that this role will be a remote role and will require you to be in the office (Portland, OR) 1x/quarter once it is safe to do so.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work to identify and track data quality issues, including:
  • Gather information, perform research, and analyze data quality issues to determine the relative size and root cause(s), and collaborate with staff to develop documentation.
  • Collaborate with staff to create, maintain, and enhance reports to track data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop recommendations about how systems and/or processes could be changed to reduce data quality issues.
  • Work to clean up accounts, contacts, and sites in CRM, including:
  • Reconcile duplicates, including confirming that site data for sites marked as duplicates has been transferred correctly.
  • For accounts and sites, create parent-child relationships.
  • Create connections between accounts, contacts, and sites.
  • Create sites (if necessary) to assist in creating connections.
  • Research and verify site location and address, city, and zip when necessary.
  • Update account operating names to capture information previously captured in DBA field.
  • Assign site types, site markets, site names, site attributes, and other site data in CRM as needed (including government properties, manufactured homes, over 1 aMW, and self-direct certified).
  • Clean up sort order for measure and project attributes in PT.
  • Clean up project phases, or other project detail data.
  • Review process and system documentation, as needed, to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
  • Research and identify inefficiencies in data cleanup processes and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Utilize SQL Server Management Studio to further assist in research.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze and visualize data in an accessible format.
  • Utilize Power BI to create cross-program reports and create normalized or certified data sets.
  • Attend Data Ownership, Operations Analyst, and Business Systems Prioritization Team meetings, as needed, to present findings and gather input and feedback.
  • Perform all functions of the job in a safe and conscientious manner.

Qualifications:
  • Two years’ experience in operations, business, program administration, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with providing data clean-up, data analysis, and/or data QC/QA support to a business group.
  • Proficient in Power BI or similar reporting platform.
  • Experience with report requirements gathering, data transformation, and data visualization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of advanced Excel functions for data analysis.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and other software applications preferred.
  • Proficient in SQL Server Management Studio software application.
  • Experience with command line programming language, like R or Python, preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in cross-functional, collaborative teams.

Compensation: $27/hr
Availability: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. This role is set to last through 12/31/2022.
