Job Title: Blackstone Business Finance Analyst Program

The Description:
The Blackstone Business Finance Analyst Program is a 2-year program, which seeks to offer recent university graduates 6 to 12 month rotations through the different functional areas within the Business Finance team based in the Hong Kong office. During these rotations, the Analyst will have the opportunity to expand their experience with private equity transactions, fund operations, deal operations and reporting while working closely with finance professionals.
During each rotation, the Analyst will receive regular and formal feedback from their rotation manager. The Analyst will rotate through the following functions:

  • Transactions Management (Real Estate / Private Equity / Tactical Opportunities)
  • Deal Operations (Real Estate / Private Equity / Tactical Opportunities)
  • Core+ / BPPA Investment Operations (Real Estate)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the acquisitions and asset management teams on deal execution support, deal onboarding, and post-closing deal management
  • Review transaction documents for acquisition and disposition activities
  • Work closely with various teams across Asia and New York on funding coordination (line of credit, capital call, distributions)
  • Review funds flow files for funding, repatriations, and distributions
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting tasks such as reviewing monthly management accounts of SPVs, quarterly cash / NAV, annual financial statements and tax reporting packs
  • Liaise and coordinate on audits with service providers and auditors
  • Analyze project specific costs and T&E
  • Involvement in proposals on delegation of authority, cash management and financial reporting framework for new deals
  • Assist in finance initiatives across financial/valuation data aggregation and standardization of data in line with industry standards
  • Perform ad-hoc/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting for senior management and investors
  • Onboard investments with Deal team, AM team, and Business Finance teams
  • Participate in technology and process improvement initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships and navigate diverse stakeholders 
  • Ah hoc tasks, analyses and projects as and when required

Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.  In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have:

  • Experience in the funds, asset management or private equity industries highly regarded
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal and written English is a must
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with fast and exact data processing skills
  • Highly professional/institutional and self-motivated and able to effectively work as an individual contributor and possess strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking skills, and able to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines
  • A desire to work in an international team environment requiring global coordination between offices, often under pressure and with multiple stakeholders
  • Quick learner with the ability to quickly turnaround ad-hoc requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Must operate with the highest level of integrity
  • Fluency in English and Chinese / 2nd Asian language

To be considered for the Analyst Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Either - Recent graduate with maximum 1 year of professional accounting/finance work experience; or
  • -Undergraduate or master’s degree student, majoring in Accounting and Finance with strong GPA. Anticipated graduation date between December 2021 to Spring 2022
  • Intention to obtain the CPA qualification or equivalent qualification
  • Resume must include (expected) graduation month/year and GPA
