Sr. Research Associate/Research Associate – Immunology
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Senior Research Associate/Research Associate to join our Tectonic Therapeutics Immunology research team. As part of a collaborative team, the candidate will work closely with the immunology and cell biology teams to develop and execute in vitro and primary immune cell assays. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with clear passion for science, and they will have demonstrated clear evidence of experimental rigor and impact. This role requires a results-driven attitude, the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and an eagerness to develop and grow outside of their comfort zone.

Professional Responsibilities:
·       Use sterile technique to maintain and expand cell line and primary cell cultures
·       Develop in vitro cell-based assays to support discovery and early therapeutic development
·       Analyze immune cell function using ELISAs, qRT-PCR, and flow cytometry
·       Analyze, interpret, and organize data to prepare clearly articulated experimental reports and communicate results at internal meetings
·       Contribute to the team with timely results and assay development
·       Assist in the generation and maintenance of written procedures
·       Maintain a detailed and accurate lab notebook
 
Position requirements:
·       Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Cell or Molecular Biology or related discipline
·       2+ years of directly relevant laboratory experience
·       Experience with sterile technique, cell culture (primary and cell lines), blood and tissue processing, and in vitro and cell-based assays
·       Significant experience with cell-based assay development using primary T cells and myeloid cells; not required but highly preferred
·       Significant experience with immune-based and molecular biology assays (ELISAs, qRT-PCR, flow cytometry)
·       Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to work both independently and in teams
·       Keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize work on multiple projects, timelines, and company goals
·       Desire to master core concepts, quickly learn new skills, and adapt to new challenges in a rapidly developing startup environment
