The Longwood Medical Area Childcare Center (LMACCC), located in the Longwood area of Boston, is looking for part-time Teachers to work a variant schedule Monday through Friday.

Essential Functions
  • Provide a safe and quality environment that appropriately meets the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of young children. 
  • Assist the Program Coordinator(s), when appropriate, in the supervision and the general maintenance of all aspects of the classroom program
  • Be involved with planning and implementing daily activities and curriculum to help promote positive social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Foster positive relationships, interactions and communication between staff and parents, parents and children, and children and their peers
  • Serve as a cooperative and supportive member of a team, both in the classroom and in the Center.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
  • High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Infant/Toddler and/or Preschool EEC certification(s). 
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. Previous professional teaching experience preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and team player skills. Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and openness to new ideas and/or approaches.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, physically lift a minimum of 35 pounds, participate in physical activity including walking with children, go up and down stairs while supervising children, and maintain full sight and sound supervision of children at all times.

Compensation
Pay rate is $18.25 an hour.
