MSD Capital, L.P. is a private investment firm established in 1998 to exclusively manage the assets of Michael Dell and his family. MSD Capital engages in a broad range of investment activities and has the flexibility to invest in a wide variety of asset classes. MSD has offices located in New York and West Palm Beach.
MSD Partners, L.P. is an SEC-registered investment adviser formed in 2009 by the partners of MSD Capital, L.P. Michael Dell and his family are substantial clients of MSD Partners. MSD Partners utilizes a multi-disciplinary investment strategy focused on maximizing long-term capital appreciation by making investments across the globe in the debt and equity of public and private companies, real estate and other asset classes. MSD Partners operates from offices in New York and Santa Monica.

Role Description
The Business Operations Analyst role is designed to provide an opportunity for early career candidates with little or no work experience to learn the business of investment management, develop career enhancing skills, build strong relationships, and learn about the firm and how we do the business. We seek highly motivated individuals with a passion for learning and working alongside operational professionals on various, critical projects that will help drive strategic business decisions, drive growth, ensure operational effectiveness, and manage risk. Projects will provide opportunity to collaborate with operational partners to identify ways to improve current process, focus on process modernization and transformation, and drive change. 
The business operations analyst will have exposure to multiple areas across the firm, support teams, and work on projects in critical operational areas including, but not limited to: operations, finance, technology, human capital, legal and compliance, and corporate facilities. 

Qualifications & Desired Attributes 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or relevant major; 0-3 years of work experience in financial services or professional services and demonstrated passion for finance and asset management.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to take an analytical approach, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative team player who can take on many roles supporting a fast-paced lean team; ability to work independently, take initiative, and help deliver results in a timely manner.
  • Technical proficiency; ability to work in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform and deliver at a high-level within a fast paced, entrepreneurial culture with a focus on excellence.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing landscape; help develop, drive, and support creative solutions to complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate views in a clear and succinct manner both written and verbal; capable of explaining complex technical concepts succinctly and effectively.
  • Ability to perform at a high-level within a fast paced, entrepreneurial culture with a focus on excellence.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships; must possess interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to communicate across all business levels.
