Job Description

The Math Teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

The ideal candidate will:

-Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
-Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
-Promote equity and appreciation of diversity
-Maintain classroom management in accordance with PBIS expectations
-Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement
-Plan and deliver effective instruction
-Use subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Middle School Math Teachers consistent with the MA Common Core Standards to provide students with additional targeted math supports.
-Differentiate the presentation of math content using a variety of materials to a diverse group of learners.
-Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal

Job Requirements

  • -Massachusetts Teacher License in Mathematics, 5-8 with SEI Endorsement
  • -Experience working with middle school age students in a diverse, multi-cultural academic setting
  • -Must like working with middle school students
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Master degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
