Community Engagement Intern

All In Together encourages, equips, educates, and empowers voting-age women to participate fully in America’s civic and political life. Through our wide range of programming, we aim to reach a truly representative American democracy, influenced at every level by the wisdom and power of women.

This is a great opportunity for someone who seeks experience working at a non-profit and who is passionate about advancing gender equity and women's rights. The Community Engagement Intern will report to the Programs and Communications Assistants.

Start Date: Early to mid-January 2022
End Date: April/May 2022 (Flexible)
Pay: $1,000 per month stipend
Time Commitment: 15-20 hours per week
Remote?: Yes, with possibility for in-person work


Duties:

[65%] Community Leadership Program (CLP)-related
- Help with logistics, programming, and event-planning for grassroots CLP events in 5 focus states
- Includes finding venue spaces, tracking necessary materials to bring to site, services needed for events, etc.
- Conduct outreach (phone calls and emails) to local community organizations and potential event speakers for each CLP event
- Serve as a key contact for CLP communications with external organizations and individuals and on online platforms
- Track registrations for each CLP event and monitor feedback from attendees and partners post-event
- Establish and sustain AIT’s relationships with local, community-based organizations in our focus states
[35%] Communications, Programming, Administrative
- Help with execution of virtual and in-person forums and programs
- Provide support to External Affairs Coordinator for communications strategy (social media and newsletters) and grow our online and in-person community
- Monitor relevant news and legislation related to women, civics, and the political process for dissemination across AIT platforms
- Other programmatic and administrative tasks as needed


Required Qualifications:

- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Current undergraduate student or recent college graduate
- Passionate about gender equality, empowering and educating women in the civics and politics spaces
- A self-starter; able to operate independently with minimal direction and oversight, especially in a remote setting
- Highly organized; able to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Communicative; able to maintain proactive communication with AIT staff, partners, and community members; not afraid to raise questions and comments


Preferred Qualifications:

- Background in politics, community organizing, women’s rights, or a related field
- Based in one of our CLP cities/states in 2022 (Houston and Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Cincinnati, OH; Orlando, FL; Little Rock, AR)
- Well-versed in a range of social media platforms
- Experience with event planning, logistics, and execution
- Fluent in a language other than English (e.g. Spanish, Chinese)
- Familiarity with the programs we use (Every Action, Canva, Slack) as well as the political process, campaigns, and grassroots outreach

Even if you do not meet all of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply regardless. We are open to remote candidates from across the United States, however, the intern will be expected to work on Eastern time.
