Lead Associate, Digital Marketing (P2)

Summary
The Lead Associate, Digital Marketing is an integral part of the successful operation of Save the Children’s email and mobile digital marketing operation to raise over $3 million in annual revenue and drive advocacy actions to support the needs of children in the US and around the world. You will mainly focus on the production and reporting needs of a fast-moving, detail-oriented digital marketing team. You will have core responsibility for the planning, scheduling, production, coding, targeting, tracking, data integration and performance analysis of the email and mobile digital marketing programs of Save the Children and its political advocacy arm, Save the Children Action Network.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
 
Email & Mobile Messaging Implementation (40%)
  • Work with Digital Marketing Senior Director, Digital Marketing Strategy Advisor, external consultants and internal stakeholders to maintain a calendar of email and mobile messages and ensure messages go out to correct audiences on appropriate schedule.
  • Track email and mobile messaging requests from internal stakeholders and external consultants and ensure that requests are prioritized in collaboration with team managers and completed by due dates
  • Configure emails and mobile messages using WYSIWYG and HTML editing tools
  • Configure, assign, edit and troubleshoot email and mobile targeting and suppression lists to ensure correct supporters receive messages
  • Perform quality assurance testing on all email and mobile messages
  • Create and manage shared archive of email and mobile messages
  • Request and track completion of new donation pages with technology services and web teams
 
Email & Mobile Data Integrity (30%)
 
  •  Work with technology services, acquisition and retention teams, external consultants and service providers to perform data import, export, integration and analysis tasks with email and mobile systems, online donation and advocacy systems, and main CRM system
  •  Maintain custom field architecture in email and mobile systems
  •  Report regularly on status of data integration tasks
  •  Work with internal and external teams on data migration plans and implementation for future migration to new multicontent marketing hub platform and other ancillary systems
 
Performance Reporting (20%)
 
  • Serve as main technical resource on data reporting on email and mobile performance across messaging, fundraising and advocacy KPIs
  • Work with other teams to ensure tracking codes are implemented properly in all email and mobile messages to track revenue and advocacy performance against goals
  • Serve as main team liaison with other internal and external reporting teams
  • Maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting resources
  • Support team management in aligning current revenue and expenses to budgets
 
Program Administration (10%)
 
  • Provide backup support for team invoicing, planning and reporting tasks as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including use of pivot tables, filters, formulas
  • Professional proficiency of HTML and CSS formatting for email
  • Demonstrated ability to perform quality control and proofreading tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to manage through multiple priorities with competing deadlines, taking initiative to anticipate and resolve challenges
  • Proven successful organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently after receiving direction and prioritization from supervisor, completing tasks with minimal oversight
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Nonprofit, political campaign or agency experience preferred
  • Experience with deliverability/inbox placement tools (GlockApps or Everest preferred)
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (CheetahMail preferred)
  • Experience with online fundraising platforms (Luminate Online preferred)
  • Experience with online advocacy platforms (Salsa Engage preferred)
  • Experience with SMS/MMS marketing platforms (Upland Mobile Messaging preferred)
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Blackbaud Enterprise CRM prefered)
  • Experience with multichannel marketing hub and customer data platform systems
