Who we are:
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is a 501(c)3 nonprofit food recovery organization that aims to prevent consumable excess food from going to waste by diverting it to feed people instead of landfills! We match available food from businesses to the food needs of nearby organizations that provide necessary food assistance for people with zero or low income of all ages, races, cultures and religions. Our volunteer “Rescuers” use our food rescue technology to transport the food, at no cost to the recipient organization. 
About this Internship Opportunity:
RLC is seeking a passionate intern who is committed to social, environmental and local action to assist in recruiting and onboarding new Food Donor Partners, Recipients and Volunteers throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This is an opportunity to develop and strengthen valuable skills while making a real and sustainable impact in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. 
Details:
  • This is a part-time, unpaid internship. We welcome the opportunity to work with your school or school’s foundation to provide school credit or a stipend. 
  • Flexible hours (10-12 hours weekly) with minimum 3 month or 120 hour commitment.
  • Fully remote position.

Responsibilities:
  • Brainstorm and act on effective recruiting tactics for Volunteers, Recipients & Donors
  • Research & initiate recruitment of Volunteers, Recipients and Donors
  • Follow up on existing correspondences
  • Engage, network and nourish existing relationships with Volunteers, Recipients and Donors
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Google drive, docs & forms
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work independently without supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Proactive work ethic, demonstrates aptitude for problem-solving
