Advisor, People Analytics - Data Engineering


What People Analytics & Insights contributes to Cardinal Health

The People Analytics and Insights (PAI) team mission is to empower all leaders and HR stakeholders within Cardinal Health to make data-driven people strategy decisions quickly, easily, and with confidence.

The Advisor, People Analytics - Data Engineering role on the PAI team will have responsibility to help drive and implement the team’s HR data strategy, including transitions from traditional data warehouses to the cloud. This individual will maintain the team’s data platforms, which source data from enterprise human capital management (HCM) systems and other HR processes across the business. 

In collaboration with People Data Scientists and People Analytics Consultants, the Data Engineer will gather requirements for additional data elements or pipelines, and work to integrate those sources into the team’s data platforms to help HR and the business answer key questions related to people and talent strategy.

Accountabilities

  • Manage and support the HR data strategy, across traditional data platforms (SQL Server) and cloud platforms (Google BigQuery)
  • Manage all aspects of those data platforms, including data extracts from source systems, loading, cleansing, processing and auditing data to ensure integrity
  • Work collaboratively with peers to understand new and enhanced data needs, identify sources for new data and establish process for incorporation into team data library
  • Support the PAI team in ad hoc analyses, dashboard builds and enterprise-wide projects
  • Independently make recommendations on ways to improve new and existing processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in related field preferred
  • Experience developing creative and innovative data driven solutions with business value
  • Proven experience with traditional database and analytics tools such as SQL Server and Alteryx.  
  • Experience in cloud data engineering and management (Google BigQuery, Cloud Functions, etc.), scalable data engineering
  • Familiarity with Workday and people data solutions a plus
  • Ability to learn quickly and adjust to changing business needs.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present information in spoken, written or visual form to a variety of audiences, from internal teams to senior leadership as well as external vendors.
  • A Covid-19 vaccination is required in order to be employed in this position. This includes either:
  • 2 doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine
  • 1 dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine

Anticipated salary range: $67,000-104,200
