Data Management Intern - Spring 2022

This is an unpaid Spring 2022 Internship. This internship can either be fully remote or a hybrid.

JVS is a non-profit, non-sectarian agency. Our mission is to empower individuals from diverse communities to find employment and build careers; and to partner with employers to hire, develop and retain productive workforces.  
JVS provides a broad range of services including adult education, skills training, job readiness training, job placement and support, and access to post-secondary education. JVS assists employers in their search for well-qualified job applicants and their initiatives to upgrade the skills of their incumbent workforce.   
 
Program Overview: 
The Data department is responsible for maintaining a clean and accurate database to provide information to private and governmental funding sources.  In addition, we use our data to provide insight to various research projects and trends in the past, present, and future workforce development initiatives.  
JVS is currently phasing out it’s Management Information System (MIS), ETO. ETO, “Efforts to Outcomes”, organizes data collection and aggregates the data to track client progression.  JVS is transitioning to Salesforce as it’s main MIS. 
 
Responsibilities: 
The Data Management Intern will directly assist the Sr. Manager of Data Quality and the Data Analyst. The intern will primarily enter, validate, and manage data into JVS’ data systems, such as (but not limited to): 
  • Entering or updating client’s profile and job information in ETO and Salesforce 
  • Managing excel sheets to assist with data migration & integration 
  • Assist agency staff, when needed, in data integration 
Training is provided for this role

  • Understanding of databases 
  • Proficient in Excel 
  • Task and project orientated 
  • Organized and detail-oriented 
  • Willingness to learn JVS data systems 
  • Exceptional time management skills 
  • Able to work individually, and as part of a team, and take initiative to support all team members 
  • Must be accepting and non-judgmental of all people
