Accounting Associate

About the position: 

Through a wide variety of assigned functions , they will process, reconcile, associate, disburse and provide support to team members. Collaboration and effective communication are key to completing their assignments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Bill Reconciliation/Broker Payables

Reconcile and Enter all carrier direct bill payments.

Attach all statements from carriers into AMS360

Check all statements for any discrepancies with premiums and commissions

Communicate all discrepancies to Producers and CSR's and work with them to resolve.

Adding all correspondence with producer/CSR into AMS360

Research older items and resolve with help from producer/CSR

Work with carrier contacts to resolve any issues.

Prepare Journal Entries as needed

Reconcile Broker Payable Statements

Prepare Excel Spreadsheet for payments

Issue checks to brokers and send out

Accounts Receivable 

Receipt all checks from brokers and insureds

Deposit receipts into bank account

Enter all ACH/Wire transactions received into the Bank

Let Producer/CSR know if there are any discrepancies with payments

Send out monthly broker statements

Issue and send out return premium checks to brokers/insureds

Additional responsibilities or projects as assigned

Experience and Knowledge Requirements:

Requires at least 1-year experience in accounting field

Insurance Experience a plus

Must have good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to deal with ambiguity

Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook

Advanced Excel skills required

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Work under pressure to deadlines

High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail

Self-motivated and proactive

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment

Must have some flexibility of work hours and potentially put in extra hours during peak times

Perform other duties as assigned
