Job Summary
The STS Compensation & Benefits Intern will be responsible for utilizing his / her educational background and organizational skills to perform basic research and assist with various talent planning, compensation and employee benefits issues. In this role, the STS Compensation & Benefits Intern will gather required client information necessary to prepare client reports, proposals, and utilize compensation surveys to complete simple market pricing and reports under the supervision of more experienced STS Compensation & Benefits professionals. This opportunity will allow you to gain a unique hands-on perspective on our firm’s practices and people, as well as beginning to forge the critical relationships that will help maximize your chance for success in your career.
 

Qualifications

Education
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program required; major in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, or other relevant field of study preferred

Job Duties
- Identifies simple situations when research is necessary providing an outline of the issue(s) and the appropriate source of research to be conducted
- Analyzes researched facts and the sources utilized prior to composing a detailed report of the research findings
- Accomplishes basic tasks and documents and organizes work product for review by senior STS Compensation & Benefits professionals
- Reviews talent management and compensation issues relevant to assigned clients to identify potential benefits to decrease the clients’ current and future tax liability
- Monitors executive compensation rules and client factual developments
- Conducts job matching to support compensation market pricing including the use of published compensation surveys
- Assists in preparing market pricing reports and calculates various statistics using market data
- Reviews job descriptions
- Assists in the development of performance management programs
- Assists in the design and review of short-term and/or long-term incentive plans
- Researches and assists with identification of prevalent compensation practices specific to each industry
- Reviews corporate level performance metrics and aligns compensation plans with metrics
