Credit Officer 2


The Credit Officer 2 is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual. The position also has routine processes and projects on an  ad hoc basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform risk, financial and data analysis including reconciliation to ensure condo/co-op eligibility and salability
  • Provide technical support and guidance to all channels regarding condo/co-op project approval
  • Review and analyze initial application packages for admission to the Correspondent program in compliance with Citibank policies and practices
  • Complete annual recertification to assess each Correspondent’s ongoing program eligibility and risk profile
  • Maintaining proper oversight and controls on database records
  • Communicate with appropriate areas of the business to maintain successful relationships through effective communication and collaboration
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:

  • Degree in Fields such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Mathematics.
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in mortgage industry, preferably in Correspondent lending or Third Party Management.
  • Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and possess effective interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills
  • Strong knowledge/skills with Microsoft Office Suite

Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
