Data Analytics Intern 2022

Our Internship program is geared towards rising seniors and will provide valuable work experience to help develop your professional skills.

As an intern, you will work with the Credit Analytics/Risk team to support a number of efforts across our current strategic initiatives and provide key insights and assistance in the development, production, and automation of new BI tools and reports.
 
What You’ll Do
  • Proactively analyze data to answer create metrics and self-service reporting around key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance
  • Create and deploy custom models to understand a diverse set of business initiatives including credit risk metrics/stress scenarios, probability of default, and client behavior
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources and data-gathering techniques
  • Communicate findings effectively and translate them into recommended actions
  • Design, build and maintain automated reporting dashboards on our BI platform (Tableau and Python)
 
What You Bring to the Table
  • Working towards Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, engineering, or related field with an analytics or quantitative focus (graduating in Dec 2022 or May 2023)
  • Proficient with statistical computer languages such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
  • Experience in statistical and data mining techniques, including generalized linear model/regression, random forest, boosting, trees, text mining, social network analysis
  • Experience designing and visualizing/presenting data using BI tools like Tableau, Google Visualization, Spotfire, QlikView, MicroStrategy, etc.
  • Strong interest in data architectures and machine learning techniques such as clustering, decision tree learning, and artificial neural networks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly focused, organized and detail oriented
  • Comfortable deconstructing complex and open-ended problems which may not yield a clear-cut solution
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and carry out assignments to completion based on the original goals with minimal supervision
