Metropolitan Opera Paid Internship
The Met Internship Program
The goal of the Met Internship Program is to provide training and long-term mentoring to 15 students (aged 18–24) per year. The program is designed to enable and support participants in pursuing careers at the Met and at other leading performing arts companies.
The Internship Program will include:
- A general orientation and overview of all areas of the Met’s operations
- Assigned staff mentors and special presentations by Met senior staff
- Opportunities to attend performances and socialize with fellow interns and Met staff
Each applicant will be encouraged to choose principal areas of interest to focus on for the duration of their Met internship:
- Production and season planning
- Marketing and communications
- Finance and development
- Staffing and human resources
- Education
Dates and Payment
Interns can apply to work at the Met for either the fall or spring semester. Applications for the spring and fall semesters of 2022 open November 1, 2021. Please indicate which period of time you are interested in when submitting your application.
Interns will be paid $16/ hour, working between 15 and 20 hours/week
Eligibility
Internships are available to undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals (within the first two years), 18– 24. We welcome applications form International students.
