Position Summary:
SiriusXM/Stitcher is looking for an intern interested in learning about the exciting and constantly developing worlds of podcasting and live radio. The ideal candidate will work with senior producers on two high profile podcasts, weekly SiriusXM shows, focusing on guest research, audio editing, and social media strategies for all shows.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with producers on guest outreach and research while learning how to produce segments that bring the host’s vision to life.
- Identify and highlight standout moments of various shows for social media exposure, trailers, and on-air promos and express creativity by writing, creating, and editing audio segments.
- A hands-on experience, being involved with planning, scheduling, audio editing, light video editing, publishing, and more.
- Perform other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Minimum Qualifications:
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
Requirements and General Skills:
- Familiarity with SiriusXM and Stitcher programming and a passion for podcasts is a must.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with others.
- Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, energetic, independent, and responsive to feedback.
- Attention to detail and strict adherence to the highest journalistic standards and ethics.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Experience with Adobe Creative applications and Google Drive assets management is a plus.
