Position Summary
The Procurement Data Analyst will be responsible providing data to support key procurement business initiatives, projects, and programs within the Procurement Department. This role will transform raw, complex data sets using business intelligence tools and visualizations that will be used by leadership both inside and outside of the organization to analyze key performance indicators and assess the growth of the program. This position will work with the Procurement Business Manager to build the business function and to integrate it within Procurement and across PCORI.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Intelligence & Analytics
· Ensure quality of data by interpreting patterns and trends using advanced digital tools and methods including but not limited to Power Bi, Domo, and Excel.
· Mining data from multiple sources and reorganizing said data in a format that can be read easily by internal and external stakeholders.
· Participate in and take the lead on assigned projects to support business needs and initiatives for the enhancement and development of procurement and general business needs.
· Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and collaborates with the Procurement Business Manager to increase informed decisions based on the collective data.
· Proactively uses diagnostical tools to understand trends, predict when things are likely to happen, as well as propose effective solutions for possible data limitations.
Data Reporting
· Manages and utilizes statistics to model trends in procurement data (spend, payment, KPIs, cycle times, savings, vendor performance etc.), report findings along with recommendations to inform on procurement operational value.
· Design, develop, and publish timely and accurate dashboards, reports, presentations, and visual aids designed to educate, inform, and influence the decisions of Procurement stakeholders and business leaders within PCORI.
· Able to produce high-quality visualizations, dashboards, charts, and graphs to present findings with clarity and concisely.
· Prepares reports for executive leadership that can communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data for both quarterly and yearly reviews.
· Create informative & actionable reports which highlight relevant business process inefficiencies and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Vendor Management
· Develop and manages the vendor score card and other vendor performance related measures.
· Analyze and presents vendor performance metrics and findings.
· Provide training sessions regarding data analysis interpretation, technology platforms' how-to, and updates related to SharePoint and other repositories.
Required Skills
· Experience managing projects with input from cross-functional teams.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with procurement, financial, and contractual data.
· Proficient in knowledge and usage of various financial, procurement and contract management software solutions.
· Natural ability to work with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
· Capacity to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
· Experience using data warehousing and data visualization tools; experience with Domo, Microsoft, and Power Bi a plus.
· Ability to read, interpret, synthesize, and relay the message received from the collective data.
· Ability to advise and collaborate with stakeholders and all levels of leadership.
Required Experience
· Bachelor's degree in a related field required, Master’s degree in related field preferred.
· 5+ years of experience in supplier and healthcare industry or Public Health sector.
· Knowledge of all phases of the procurement and contract management lifecycle and operations.
· 3+ years of preparing reports for management that effectively communicates trends, patterns, and predictions using procurement, contractual, financial, and other relevant data.
· 2+ years of business intelligence reporting, data analysis, creating and maintaining data pipelines experience.
· 2+ years of Structured Query Language (SQL) experience.
· 3+ years of experience in ERP systems, mainly Procurement and Financial modules, structure, and processes.
