Barings Summer Internship Program
The Barings Global Technology and Operations group is seeking an intern to join its Data Engineering team in the Barings Internship Program. The Barings Internship Program is intended to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience that affords students with a role that closely resembles the role of a full-time analyst. The program will come to fruition with a project presentation that the student has worked on throughout their time at Barings. The 10-week program also includes social events, networking opportunities, involvement in the community, and training.
As a member of this team, the individual will be part of a fast-paced environment where they will assist with designing and implementing data pipeline and storage solutions as part of a new Cloud Data Platform. The ideal candidate has a proven appreciation and understanding of Data Engineering concepts, problem solving, and programming knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with Data Engineering team to help build data pipelines, APIs and frameworks for different ongoing projects using Azure cloud stack
- Help document systems in development
- Interact directly with business partners for requirements gathering and QA testing efforts
- Help discover new methodology and define best practices in the Cloud Data Engineering space
- Participate in code review and troubleshooting efforts
Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Experience working with SQL and Python
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT, API concepts and technologies
- Familiarity with Data lake or Data Warehouse or Analytical platform concepts
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on data engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science with a planned graduation date of 2023
- Experience working in environments that require strict adherence to change control policies
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Good time-management, problem solving, organization, and analytical skills
