CORPORATE ASSOCIATE POSITION

We’re seeking a Spring 2023 graduate to join our in-person team in NYC. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving problems, we’d like to hear from you.
 
As an entry-level associate, you would be responsible for providing industry and competitor analysis, conducting financial statement analysis, performing paralegal functions and overseeing general compliance work. You will have the opportunity to work directly with our credit investment team, our finance/accounting teams and our legal team and will have regular interaction with all members of the firm. This is the perfect opportunity for an upcoming graduate who wants to break into the finance industry and is eager to learn.
 
The position reports into the Chief Compliance Officer, however, the role is uniquely split between corporate, compliance and legal functions, providing broad access to the different teams here at CION. We also view this position as a stepping-stone to a larger role within CION – previous hires in this role have been promoted to front-office investment valuation and strategic planning roles. The salary is $70,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing industry and competitor analysis updates to the sales desk on a frequent basis
  • Maintaining competitor analysis models and rolling out new processes to eliminate repetitive tasks and inefficiencies
  • Completing financial statement analysis regularly across multiple business lines
  • Legal/compliance functions such as: Anti Money Laundering Review; Fulfilling Investor Relations document requests; Contract review; Prepping board of director materials on a quarterly basis; Organizing and maintaining business records on a weekly basis
  • Following public credit and equity markets and staying up-to-date on market trends and breaking news
  • Running point on due diligence questionnaires from prospective broker/dealers and investors
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Spring 2023 College Graduate
  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum GPA of 3.3 preferred; a track record of academic excellence. Financial background with strong Excel skills (also familiarity with Bloomberg, Markit, etc.) is a plus
  • Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously, operates well in an intense environment
  • Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
