Program Coordinator, Online Teacher Education Program

The Program Coordinator provides operational support for all aspects of the Seminars on Science program, including administrative support, course operations, program inquiries, learner registration and support, event coordination, partnership and dissemination. They also monitor updates and changes to the courses within the course platforms, as well as keep track of links and supplemental resources. They will also act, where appropriate as a content specialist, and provide support to the Curriculum Manager in developing onsite and online lessons, materials and assessment tools. The objective of the job is, through provision of these many levels of support, to ensure the ability of the Museum to provide innovative and effective online and blended professional development as it continues to expand its partnerships, enrollments and modalities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Act as first contact for the program for teachers, partners, and administrators. Answer phones and emails. Be fluent in details of the program in order to answer incoming questions. Support partners regarding course information, enrollments and invoicing. Coordinate on-site visits and event planning. Support program registration, including dealing with multiple databases, communicating with partners and following through on all payments. Disseminate grades and transcripts. Work with OTEP manager on program administration and partner invoicing. Assist with program session operational preparation including working with the course management system to prepare courses and enroll students. Assist Curriculum Manager in updating course content. Assist Manager with record keeping of session enrollments and demographics.
Maintain the online course materials for each Seminars on Science course/session, including updates to course essays, videos, interactives, links, assignments and discussions. Keep an open line of communication with all course instructors and the Program Manager to make sure updates are done in a timely and effective manager. Develop the technology skills to make many, if not all, of the updates within the course platform and associated systems.
• With Curriculum Manager, act as content support for blended and online offerings, including development of online assignments, rubrics, on-site activities, and evaluation as well as support of on-site professional development.
Oversee the planning of onsite events, including the onsite portions of blended courses, IB workshops, and special meetings and events with current and potential partners.

Required Qualifications:

• An undergraduate degree is required.
• Experience using strong written and oral communications skill.
• Experience with detail oriented, deadline-driven work.
• Experience in working proficiently with all MS Office programs.
• Experience in an educational setting.
• Experience in working in a team setting.
• Experience in working quickly and comfortably with technology, including new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with databases, particularly Filemaker, is preferred.
