U220010 - Associate Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations - University Advancement

Position Summary:
 Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will play a key role in developing and executing a robust engagement and fundraising strategy. In addition, the Associate Director will:
 
 • In collaboration with university partners (faculty, administrators, university leadership), develop strategic, coordinated, long-term, multi-faceted relationships with major corporate and foundation prospects on behalf of the university.
 
 • In coordination with University Advancement leadership, lead the development of the university’s corporate sponsorship program including the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of sponsors.
 
 • Work proactively with UB faculty, staff, administration and advancement colleagues on the identification of fundable programmatic and research initiatives, and to advance priority programs.
 
 • Partner closely with the Office of Prospect Research in the identification of new corporate and foundation prospects, particularly those that support the university’s Top-25 Ambition.
 
 • In partnership with colleagues in the Office of Donor Relations and Stewardship, implement a comprehensive stewardship program for donors and sponsors involving faculty, university leadership, corporate and foundation relations staff, donor relations and stewardship colleagues, and other partners in and outside of the division.

Minimum Qualifications:
 • Bachelor’s degree
 • A minimum of three years in a fund-development role, with demonstrated success in goal-achievement, planning and personal solicitation. Related experience in professional sales/marketing, financial planning/advising and other fields will be considered. 
 • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; an intellectual curiosity; the ability to deal with complex concepts and ambiguity as well as to negotiate. conversations/details. 
 • Technical/digital competence.
 • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration as well as the ability to work well both independently and collectively with a diverse team and donor/prospect constituency. 
 • Excellent judgement, listening skills, and diplomacy.
 • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (primarily local and regional travel), and to work evenings and on occasional weekends.
