As a Community Capacity Corps (CCC) VISTA Leader, you will support the smooth operation of the statewide VISTA program through leadership of VISTA recruitment, training, and ongoing support, ensuring maximum enrollment and retention of VISTA members and the continued progress of food bank projects. Leaders support the CCC’s scale, effectiveness, and efficiency through continuously improving workflows, synthesizing best practices, and identifying and troubleshooting challenges. They will be personable and inspiring mentors to the VISTA member cohort while also taking on their own capacity building projects supporting the future of the Corps as a whole. Leaders play a critical role in facilitating community engagement work, elevating the importance of participation of people with lived experience in anti-poverty programming. Due to COVID-19, this position is available to remote workers, however it is preferred that the VISTA Leader lives in or is willing to relocate to Texas.

Feeding Texas leads a unified effort for a hunger-free Texas. We assist hungry Texans through a statewide network of twenty-one food banks, lead the public discussion on hunger in Texas, and strengthen the anti-hunger movement through collaboration and capacity-building. The Community Capacity Corps (CCC) is made up of a creative and motivated team focused on disrupting cycles of hunger through strategies that target the upstream causes and downstream effects of food insecurity. VISTAs support capacities within the network to develop innovative programming and non-traditional partnerships targeting economic stability, community health, and equitable access. CCC also aims to strategically incorporate the voices of hungry Texans into the public conversation on hunger through a community engagement pillar, through which VISTAs build capacity for people-centered solutions, client feedback cycles, and community partnerships. With ample coaching and personal development opportunities, our corps offers emerging non-profit professionals a way to gain a level of experience above other entry-level positions. Collaborate with other VISTAs and non-profit professionals in a variety of positions, while building a foundation for a meaningful career.
