Dontzin Nagy & Fleissig LLP (“DNF”), a boutique litigation law firm in New York, seeks a reliable, self-motivated, proactive paralegal to join a team that collectively provides assistance to multiple attorneys specializing in complex commercial and securities litigation, art law, and business transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare, proofread, and format agreements, letters, memoranda, spreadsheets, presentations, and court and regulatory documents;
· Conducting legal research using specialized platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, Bloomberg Law; Law360);
· Research individuals and entities;
· Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines;
· Develop and maintain the Firm’s electronic, paper, and archival file systems;
· Track billable time and enter it into the Prolaw time accounting system;
· Support the firm’s administrative staff (including our office manager, executive assistants, and controllers) with their responsibilities, including assisting with billing, logistics, and office management;
· Perform administrative tasks as needed (answering phones, preparing binders and mailings, coordinating or making deliveries to attorneys);
· Additional responsibilities as may be needed to respond to a changing environment and the Firm's needs.
About Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a motivated self-starter who can keep up with our fast-paced, high-stakes cases and contracts. The ideal candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision on tight deadlines to complete mission-critical tasks, big and small, from proof-reading briefs and contracts to actively supporting our attorneys in the courtroom or in contract negotiations. We are looking for detail-oriented candidates who thrive in a high-pressure environment, and who are excited to take on as much responsibility as they can handle.
The minimum requirements for the Paralegal position are:
· Bachelor’s Degree (completed or less than 1 semester to graduation), with 3.6 GPA or higher;
· Demonstrated proficiency with proofreading (prior editing experience, e.g. school newspaper or journal, preferred);
· Proven proficiency with basic computer software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.); and
· Ability to conduct work independently and in strictest confidence.
Successful candidates will have or be able to demonstrate their:
· Excellent editing and proofreading skills (competency with Bluebook citation system preferred);
· Ability to communicate with attorneys, staff and clients clearly, concisely, and professionally at all times, orally and in writing;
· Strong research skills, both open source (e.g., internet and primary source) and specialized databases (prior experience with Westlaw or LexisNexis a plus);
· Ability to be flexible, handle pressure, and adapt to changing work priorities, workflow, and work assignments, including night and weekend overtime assignments on short notice;
· Prior experience with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Nuix, Viewpoint, Concordance) or other specialized legal software a plus.
· A demonstrable interest in law is desirable, but not required. This position is ideal for persons considering a future legal career, and many of our paralegals have gone on to law school directly from DNF, including to Harvard, Columbia, NYU, and Penn.
