Summer 2022 - Virtual Community Engagement Operations Intern

Position Description 
 
UNICEF USA seeks a Community Engagement Operations intern. The intern works in collaboration with the UNICEF USA Community Engagement team based across the country to help teams recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers at scale to raise awareness on child rights, advocate, educate, build community, empower youth and fundraise through global citizenship to realize a world where every child thrives. We are currently seeking paid interns for our Summer cohort that will commence on May 31st, 2022, and end on August 12th, 2022.
 
This internship would provide an opportunity to learn about: 
 
• Data analysis using excel
• Creating and analyzing surveys using Survey Monkey and excel
• Professional development opportunities with UNICEF USA through our many PD platforms and networking with UUSA Staff
 
Key Responsibilities/Projects:
 
• Report to the Community Engagement Operations Manager
• Support analysis of a UNICEF UNITE clubs diversity survey and weigh in on strategy around club diversification using the results from this survey
• Support the analysis of the UNICEF UNITE End of the Year survey and weigh in on strategy around the UNITE Club program using the results from this survey
• Support the FY23 UNICEF UNITE Clubs recruitment and retention strategy
• Create resources such as PowerPoint presentations, documents, and reference material for the UNICEF UNITE clubs program•This intern will support the UNICEF UNITE Clubs program, National Youth Council, and our Domestic Strategy creation as needed
 
Qualifications: 
 
• Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program
• Interest in project management, survey creation, and analysis, data analysis, nonprofit, humanitarian, or related field preferred
• It is preferred if they have experience with UNICEF’s UNITE Club Program, community organizing, volunteer management, and a passion for inspiring others (extracurricular activities, leaders of clubs, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge and interest in data analysis, survey design, Survey Monkey and survey analysis is a plus
• The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of children's rights and international issues, as well as a commitment to public service
• The ideal candidate will be resourceful and energetic with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously with attention to detail
• Innovation, creativity, and a team player mentality are necessary for success in this role
• Demonstrated ability to lead effective presentations and workshops and ease in public speaking for groups large and small
• Experience working with students or in educational programming is a plus
• Proven ability to work well with a diverse group of people in a team setting; additional language(s) a plus
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written; experience working with cross-country teams a plus
• Ability to work a flexible schedule remotely
• Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Survey Monkey, and Excel is preferred
• Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA

Time Frame: May 31, 2022 - August 12, 2022 
Days per Week: Flexible 
Hours per Week: Up to 30 hours (Summer cohort only)
Pay: $15/Hourly  
 
 
All Interns must be at least 18 years of age and comply with all employment laws. All Interns will receive federal-and state-mandated benefits only and are not eligible for other benefits from UNICEF USA. 
 
 
Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
