Equipment Estimator (Hybrid Position!)

Are you a technically skilled professional who is looking to advance your career with a worldwide leader in HVAC and Building Automation?  Trane is looking for an HVAC Equipment Estimator to join our commercial sales team in our Birmingham, AL location.

In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for generating estimates, proposals, and submittals for commercial HVAC projects while closely interacting with customers, Account Managers and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned projects.

This position offers a hybrid work model allowing both in-person and work at home schedules.

What You Will Do:
• Determine specific quantities and costs of HVAC equipment, services, and controls to create a complete take-off for plan/spec projects
• Review mechanical plans & specifications to ensure equipment selections meet the project requirements and constraints
• Work with vendors to obtain products outside of Trane’s portfolio to provide a complete proposal package
• Provide replacement equipment pricing per the customer’s project requirements
• Evaluate project’s bill of material to discuss possible cost savings or scope gaps with Account Manager
• Generate a complete proposal based on the project’s bill of material
• Collaborate with Systems Sales Account Manager to determine proposal price and selling strategy
• Validate the final equipment selections to generate submittals

What You Will Need To Be Successful:
• Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related study; or 1 - 3 years of related experience with estimating, engineering, HVAC or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and industry-related experience.
• Familiarity with HVAC Systems preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as required.
