Camp K Outdoor Living Skills Core Counselor

Pay: $250 - $300/week
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position provides oversight to the Outdoor Living Skills (OLS) Program, which entails developing and teaching nature, outdoor education, and outdoor living skills activities. You'll have a great opportunity to gain valuable experience leading expedition trips with small groups of older campers along with participating in teaching OLS activities, such as; swimming, boating, aquatics, target sports, etc. You'll gain experience collaborating with program leadership to identify camp needs, develop/implement successful programming, and take part in the evaluations of the programs. Through this position, you'll reside on the premises of Camp K in the Chugach National Forrest with everyday opportunities to be off the grid, experience wildlife, and take in the epic beauty right outside your cabin door!
QUALIFICATIONS
- Twenty-one (21) years of age preferred to maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Prior experience in leading outdoor activities, including lesson planning, is preferred.
- Prior experience working with youth, is required, preferably in a residential camp setting.
- Current Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Certification preferred upon hire
- Current Adult/Pediatric CPR, AED & First Aid Certification
- Valid Driver’s License, preferred.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
