2022 Investment Banking Analyst

IKONA Partners is a new technology M&A advisory firm founded in 2022 and based in San Mateo, CA. IKONA advises asset-light clients in the software and internet space on their most transformative transactions, including sales, minority and majority recapitalizations, spin-offs, mergers, leveraged buyouts, debt financings, and growth capital raises. IKONA currently serves a growing list of client mandates across the US and internationally.

IKONA is hiring Investment Banking Analysts to assist senior bankers in transaction execution, new client origination, and marketing material content creation. Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of experience in investment banking and/or corporate finance (internships are considered) and a passion for technology. We are looking for candidates who are interested in joining a fast-paced and entrepreneurial investment banking platform. Candidates must currently live in or be open to relocating to the SF Bay Area.

Investment Banking Analyst responsibilities will include:

  • Together with senior bankers, conceptualize and create new business presentations ("Pitches") to prospective clients
  • Create client marketing material ("Confidential Information Presentations") using market research, financial analyses, and other data
  • Create financial models and customer retention analyses
  • Lead day-to-day transaction execution including buyer list, dataroom, and due diligence checklist management
  • Perform and analyze industry research

The best candidates will have the following skills and experience:
  • Extensive experience with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Knowledge of software and internet KPIs and calculation methodologies
  • Ability to quickly learn about new markets/companies, learn new tasks, double check work for errors, and present work to senior bankers and clients
  • Middle-market Technology Investment Banking / M&A experience is a plus
