The 2-year Global Graduate development program is designed to develop critical skills by providing participants an opportunity to experience a range of placement assignments as they establish broad experience within Engineering. These carefully structured experiences will expose participants to a view of the "big picture" and capabilities in areas important to engineering. Rotations could include experiences in one Iberdrola location in Spain, Scotland, Brazil or Mexico and 2 rotations in the U.S. (Orange, CT, Rochester/Binghamton, NY and Augusta/Portland, ME).

For each assignment, participants will be required to meet specific outcomes and execute project plans. Along with rotations, members also are given opportunities to work on Process Improvement projects that relate to their rotations.
Job Responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for the Technical Solutions Architecture and the execution of the Enterprise Technology Strategy for AVANGRID IT. The Technical Solutions Architect will support the business and applications teams as part of the global architecture team. 
The Technical Solutions Architect will assist in the evolution of the Technology Strategy, contribute to the development of application architectures used by the digital transformation team, and contribute to the development of new capabilities as required by the applications and business teams. 
This role will also contribute to the innovation effort within the AVANGRID IT team, identifying and contributing innovation ideas, supporting the execution of PoCs, and managing the documentation required for the Innovation Process in collaboration with Global Innovation counterparts.
  • Architectural Standards definition.
  • Assist in the alignment of projects with the Technology Strategy.
  • Technology Research and Awareness.
  • Analyze business requirements and drivers to identify opportunities for technology advancement. Identify critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Collaborate with applications teams in the evaluation of innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams in the first implementations of new technologies and engaging with partners to ensure technology platform readiness.
  • Assist in the definition of Application Development Frameworks, including code quality and security frameworks through collaboration with QA and Security teams.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new technologies that reinforce and evolve the global enterprise architecture model.
  • Be accountable for the definition, creation, and socialization of end-to-end designs for business solutions.
  • Participate in project design reviews to ensure design adherence to architecture guidelines.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study, or equivalent related job experience.
  • Graduate: 0-2 Years
Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of different architectures, such as Cloud, Digital Channels (Smart Mobility and Web), Advanced Analytics (Big Data), Robotic Processing/Bots, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Social & Collaboration, IoT, Blockchain, etc…).
  • Understanding of new digital technologies and capabilities required.
  • Vendor management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships within Local and Global IT departments.
  • Goals orientation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into architecture requirements and estimate the financial impact of alternative architectures.
  • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend the function and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Ability to multitask multiple projects with diverse technologies and processing environments.
