MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL PLAYWRITING TEACHER

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT:
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL PLAYWRITING TEACHER
1 YEAR LEAVE REPLACEMENT

Saint Ann’s school is looking to hire a playwright for a part time or full time one year leave replacement position in our theater department this fall. Bring your experience (teaching theater to children of any age, writing plays, working in collaborative theater, directing) to our talented, curious students in grades 7-12. Our new playwriting teacher will be capable of teaching up to five sections of Middle School and/or High School playwriting and collaboratively mounting a Middle School playwriting festival and two High School playwriting festivals. Additional duties include writing checklists and twice-yearly anecdotal reports and participating in weekly department and school-wide initiatives, meetings and community events. Applicants will be able to encourage authentic, brilliant writing and to coach revisions and rewrites. Applicants should be well organized even as they have a high tolerance for chaos and must bring an equity lens to their interactions with colleagues and students. This position will also include assisting in various capacities on classroom and divisional projects and productions. These responsibilities will be assigned based on the applicant’s skills and experience.
