Policy Intern

Summary

Everyone has a role to play in uplifting the solutions that will help all families, neighbors, and communities build sustainable wealth. We seek a Policy Intern to support a number of large-scale projects to help expand financial inclusion for low-income households and promote innovations in the asset-building field. This paid internship is expected to begin sometime in June and last approximately 8 weeks while working up to 40 hours weekly. This internship can be hybrid based in our Washington, D.C. office or fully remote.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Provide policy research and analysis for a variety of financial security and economic
  • opportunity issues, including community development, homeownership, tax policy, entrepreneurship, emergency and higher education savings, financial capability, and consumer protection—all with the goal of closing the racial wealth divide.
  • Produce written materials with guidance from members of the Policy Team.
  • Blog about issues and events relevant to team priorities.
  • Create timely, concise social media posts to a wide audience.
  • Attend, take notes and report out on congressional hearings and meetings with staff,
  • administrative and regulatory meetings, as well as other Washington, DC policy events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate: $17
