Position Overview

Prolytix is seeking a Staff Accountant to support their growing team and be an integral part of the finance department. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this entry-level role will work closely with multiple departments, while developing a deep understanding for Prolytix’s accounting, finance, and operational functions. This will include but is not limited to: maintaining financial reports, book keeping, accounts receivable/payable support, and assisting the Accounting Manager & CFO in various projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Accounting Manager and CFO in finalizing monthly results
  • Book journal entries, apply cash and perform assigned account reconciliations
  • Voucher invoices, process check runs and run accounts payable aging reports
  • Assist in contacting customers to collect accounts receivable
  • Perform back-up functions in few operational areas, as needed, with necessary training
  • Participate in any business process change projects to improve systems/process
  • Assist in other projects, as needed
  • Support the annual audit process

Required Skills/Experience and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of general ledger experience
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficient in Microsoft Office suite is a must
  • Candidate should be willing to learn and adapt based on organizational needs
