Job Overview:
 
Atlanta magazine is currently seeking a confident, hard-working, self-motivated individual to oversee the magazine’s special advertising sections and contribute copy to sales and marketing campaigns. The editor will also coordinate digital and social media strategies for Southbound magazine, a biannual ancillary travel publication. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills are a must, as the editor will be working with magazine account executives and clients daily. The editor, who will serve on the editorial staff of the magazine's custom media division, will also be afforded opportunities to contribute to custom and ancillary publications.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·     Soliciting, writing, and editing copy for Atlanta magazine’s special advertising sections
·     Contributing copy to the magazine’s sales and marketing campaigns
·     Coordinating digital and social media strategies for Southbound magazine
·     Contributing to Atlanta magazine’s ancillary and custom publications, including Southbound magazine and Explore Georgia travel guide

Successful candidates will possess:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or communications
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal 
  • Independent judgment and the ability to juggle a variety of duties
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proven track record of accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness
  • Commitment to researching problems and providing solutions to clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with InDesign preferred
  • Familiarity with WordPress and B2C email marketing is a plus
