Data, Impact, and Evaluation Intern (Fall 2022 - September - December)
The Data Intern will support the organization in building a data-informed organizational culture in which every member of the team understands and can easily communicate the impact of our organization's work.
We are seeking a well-organized self-starter who is conscientious and has strong attention to detail. The Data Intern will improve DSS’ data infrastructure by cleaning and analyzing DSS’ software databases.
This position is excellent for students who are interested in learning and practicing a variety of valuable digital skills including data entry, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and database management.

- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Studying computer science, data science, social science, business, or other related fields
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerBI. Familiarity or willingness to learn Dynamics 365, Power BI, Azure is an added bonus.
- Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with flexibility and creativity
- Basic problem-solving skills, including issue identification and prioritization
- Strong organizational skills required, with an ability to prioritize, multi-task efficiently, and meet deadlines in a timely fashion
- Comfortable working and being supervised remotely
Responsibilities
- Collect and organize datasets from multiple sources, always with consideration for safeguarding confidential information (e.g., Scholar personal data)
- Create forms, surveys, and other data tracking tools
- Aid in program evaluation efforts for DSS’ Program team under the guidance of the Executive Director and advisors
- Support tracking and evaluation of development goals and metrics
- Support database list knowledge and expansion
- Participate in weekly staff and departmental meetings
- Other duties as assigned
