Institutional Giving Advancement Intern

The Institutional Giving Advancement Intern will provide an inquisitive emerging arts administrator with opportunities to learn new skills and improve tracking systems essential for the success in any arts fundraising department. Supporting the Associate Director of Institutional Giving, the intern will receive mentorship and while contributing to the work of the Advancement department.

·       Research new and lapsed institutional funders and institutional giving opportunities

·       Gather relevant materials for proposals and reports, including information on past seasons, artists, and community partners

·       Write sections of proposals and reports, working closely with the Associate Director of Institutional Giving

·       Edit and proofread proposals and reports

·       Collaborate with Community Engagement to track community partner relationships

·       Assist with audience and partner data collection and assessment

·       Data entry in the Tessitura database

·       Other duties as assigned to assist the Advancement department or Celebrity Series team

·       A currently enrolled undergraduate, recent graduate (2021 or 2022) or graduate student, studying the arts, arts administration, communications, or an adjacent field, or similar experience

·       General knowledge of and passion for the performing arts industry

·       Must have excellent writing and communication skills

·       Must be attentive to detail, have ability to meet deadlines, and be a self-starter

·       Prior experience with Tessitura is a plus

·       $15 per hour

·       10-15 hours per week over 2-3 days per week during 9am-5pm business hours

·       Internship dates are from September - December 2022, with the potential to extend into June 2023

·       This internship is hybrid: remote and in person depending on the duties of the week, with flexibility and the potential to be fully remote if so desired

·       All Celebrity Series of Boston employees are required to be vaccinated

·       Be on the forefront of the performing arts in Boston’s return to performances

·       Experience performances from a wide variety of artists, from classical to contemporary, in venues across the vibrant Boston arts scene

·       Learn from arts administrators across the organization with educational opportunities in fundraising, marketing, community engagement, and more

·       Get hands on experience with research, writing, and editing for institutional funders to build your resume and support job prospects in any nonprofit development environment

·       Attend development webinars and networking events to grow your network and learn new skills
