Job Summary
The Research Associate, CGT will progress research efforts into the science of CAR-T/Cell Therapy Manufacturing processes. They will use of both internally- and externally developed technologies to provide recommendations for optimized ex vivo primary cell manipulations and cultivation. The Research Associate, CGT reports into the Cell Therapy R&D Lead and participates on cross-functional teams to support the Fresenius Kabi Cell Therapy portfolio.
The Research Associate CGT maintains in-depth knowledge of cell therapy manufacturing processes and designs, executes, analyzes data from, and writes internal reports for experimental protocols in immune cell enrichment, culture, and modification using multiple processing techniques. The Research Associate will also work closely with R&D and Global Product Management to generate and communicate data for internal use, external publications, marketing materials, and direct customer support.
The Research Associate CGT will also be responsible for managing and executing scientific publication strategy and may present data to the field, as required.
Responsibilities
Design, execution, and analysis of experiments to support recommended best practices in cell therapy manufacturing and progress primary research efforts.
Provide insights into competitive technologies and industry/academic best practices through literature review, analysis, and hands-on experimentation.
Responsible for maintaining external publication strategies for generated data.
Consults with R&D and Product Management teams to provide Subject Matter Expertise on Cell Therapy Manufacturing preference and practice.
Operates within Fresenius Kabi Good Documentation and Good Laboratory Practices
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. with 1-2 years of related experience in cell and gene therapy, or M.S. degree with 2-4 years of related experience in cell and gene therapy, or B.S. degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Biochemical, Mechanical, Systems, or similar) or Biology with 3-5 years of related experience
Background in cell culture, aseptic technique, and cellular analysis methods (flow cytometry, microscopy, ELISA, etc)
History of written publications and/or oral presentations
Strong analytical skills
Experience with cell therapy manufacturing a plus
Leadership and project management skills
Motivated and independent
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Up to 10% travel
