FT After School and Preschool Teacher

Family Centers’ Family First in Education (FF) and Early Childhood Education (ECE) seeks a highly qualified, passionate, and professional educators to support two integral school programs.
Overview:
Family First in Education aims to close the achievement gap in Greenwich by positively impacting family wellness, school and community engagement, academic growth, and social/emotional development. This afterschool program improves family and education outcomes for high-need elementary school students identified by administrators and other families.
Early Childhood Education has three preschools and one infant & toddler center. All four schools are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a distinction for early care and education programs that provide the highest quality care.
Our Philosophy
We accept each child as a unique and valuable individual and group member, honoring and respecting family language and cultures. Our curriculum, goals, and objectives guide our staff’s ongoing assessment of children’s progress, while facilitating each child’s individual growth and language acquisition and cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and creative domains.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Family First in Education:
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and Academic Advisor to provide academic support in mathematics and reading for children in grades K-5.     
  • Program operates September to June, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Early Childhood Education:
  • Responsible for monitoring each child, implementing lesson plans, and providing effective and supportive classroom supervision.
  • Program operates September to June with a summer program July and half of August 
Requirements: 
  • Minimum Associates degree in Early Childhood Education (or relevant)
  • Experience working with children
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for education
Preferred: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or relevant) 
  • At least 12 ECE credits 
  • Head Teacher Certificate
