Research Associate (contractor)

The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Department at Genentech currently has a contract opportunity for a highly motivated individual to assist in research projects focused on the roles of drug transporters in the disposition of drugs in the Drug Permeability/Transport group. Primary responsibilities include maintaining cell culture, designing and conducting in vitro experiments, and data analysis.

Qualified candidates should possess a B.A./B.S. or M.S. degree in biological sciences or related discipline with 0-3 years of research experience. Tissue culture proficiency is required. Experience with molecular biology techniques is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present data in group meetings are highly desirable.

The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, independent, and a self-starter. The person must be able to work in a team environment, collaborate with multiple researchers on various aspects of the research projects, and meet timelines efficiently and productively.
