Research Technician

POSITION TITLE: Research Technician
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of routine scientific tasks; may prepare test specimens; set up and operate standard lab equipment of moderate complexity; record data providing basic analyses and interpretations; may perform a limited number of non-repetitive procedures; perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Automated Synthesis Facility is a core facility that provides hardware, software, and services in support of data-rich synthetic experiments. The facility helps synthetic chemists with all phases of a project, including project planning, reaction setup, reaction analysis, product purification, and data visualization. The technician will use LC-MS and SFC-MS to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis. The technician will also perform compound purifications using mass-directed prep LC and prep SFC.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position works in a laboratory environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

REQUIREMENTS::
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and up to one (1) year of related experience. Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field. Experience with HPLC, SFC, and/or Mass Spec.
 
COMPENSATION: $20-$24 per hour.
