GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Channing Division of Network Medicine group on Systems Genetics and Genomics (SGG) is a dynamic group of physician-scientists, bioinformaticians, and statisticians targeting diverse diseases with large-scale genetic and genomic epidemiological studies, often focusing on diseases of the respiratory system.  The successful candidate will work with Professors of Medicine and Biostatistics to execute data management and analytic tasks in various activities such as clinical trials management, drug discovery, and software ecosystem design and deployment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Engage with clinical trials data coordinating center leadership to develop and use software for data management and quality improvement for multiple clinical trials in areas of lung disease and nutritional prevention of cognitive decline. 
2. Work with Dr. Carey on enhancements to the Bioconductor and AnVIL platforms for genomic data science. This work will involve benchmarking, profiling, and optimizing tools for ingestion, analysis, and visualization of genome-scale experiments.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or above in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics or computer science, with demonstrated accomplishments outside of course work, for example, in github repositories of code. A good knowledge of R or python programming, Linux or Unix, github, and software version control is essential.
 
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Good written and verbal communication skills. Good familiarity with R or python programming and package management, Linux operating system essential.
