Business Analyst, Gaming Division

Ziff Davis, LLC, is seeking a Business Analyst for its IGN Entertainment division. In this position you will provide data analysis and insights to allow for improved decision-making for better business outcomes in both display advertising and commerce, as well as working to streamline KPI and Dashboard reporting for the business unit as a whole. You will also contribute to key FP&A operational functions and ensure the quality of forecasts and earnings in partnership with the finance, accounting and business leads for IGN.

Responsibilities

  • Support Director of Commerce in providing daily commerce KPI tracking and analysis, weekly revenue forecast updates, compiling annual commerce budgets and assist with ad hoc projects 
  • Use core commerce platforms, database querying, data manipulation and statistical analysis to provide business support to all property owners to ultimately grow revenue
  • Solve key business questions by identifying trends, crafting tests and conducting deep dive analysis to optimize on-site efforts
  • Support Director of Finance in all aspects of financial planning and analysis for IGN Entertainment, including delivering annual budgets, monthly forecasts and weekly pacing and identifying shifting KPI drivers while advising executive decision making
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly closes in collaboration with Accounting and compile SOX compliance reporting outputs 
  • Perform data analytics leveraging internal and external financial and operational data sources, and draw relevant and actionable recommendations
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities and help encourage best practices across the organization
  • Research and analyze the video game market, its characteristics, competitive landscape, emerging issues, market trends and publishing models

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sciences, Finance, Accounting or Statistics.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to problem solve independently as well as analyze large volumes of raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Highly proficient in financial analysis, excel modeling, and able to use most software and financial systems including NetSuite, Adaptive, Oracle PBCS. Expert user of digital analytics tools like Google Analytics or Adobe Suite.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial drive, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work comfortably under pressure, pivot when necessary, and meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity and interest in gaming industry and terms e.g., F2P, Steam Wishlists, DLC.
  • Understanding of Affiliate Marketing landscape
  • Basic understanding of SEO,SEM and paid arbitrage tactics 
  • Two plus years of experience in investment banking, or equivalent tenor within an FP&A function in gaming, media and entertainment spaces, preferred.
