Medical Communications Specialist

Carden Jennings Publishing Co., Ltd., is hiring a full-time Medical Communications Specialist (MCS) to manage editorial for our online medical education publications, oversee grant development and submission for our live CME meetings, as well as write and edit other medical content for urology/oncology-focused projects. The MCS will report to the Director of Medical Education. Candidates will have strong writing and editing skills. Training will be provided for editorial and marketing content as well as publishing tasks.

Specific job duties include:

  • Developing grant proposals and managing submissions for 10 annual CME meetings in urology and urologic oncology, as well as satellite symposia, webinars, and other educational initiatives as they arise.
  • Writing or editing content deliverables for industry clients, advisory board summaries, meeting transcripts, and content for slide decks.
  • Managing the editorial/publishing process for the website grandroundsinurology.com, a leading web-based source of urology education. This includes publishing and promoting daily video content, as well as writing and editing SEO summary content and marketing emails. A team of freelance writers is available to assist with the writing and editing process as needed.
  • Occasional travel to Grand Rounds in Urology CME meetings, outside conferences, and industry advisory boards, as required.

This position will mostly be remote with occasional travel to Charlottesville, VA (company HQ) and to live meetings at other locations. 

Job requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • High achievement in life sciences and English courses.

Compensation for this position will range from $55-65K annually, depending on experience and/or demonstrated capabilities. Benefits include 17 days of paid time off (includes vacation, sick, and personal days), a 401-(k) plan, and a health insurance plan.
