Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.
How will you make an impact?
The position is focused primarily on scientific support services of: order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, and glasswash operations. May also include lab based tasks including media/reagent preparation and cell culture support operations.
What will you do?
- :Makes on-site program replenishments and disbursements. Performs stockroom duties to include: receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, systematic replenishment, and other functions according to customer requirements.
- Basic customer service activities which may include: order entry, expediting, customer service call resolution, return goods authorization, processing of backorders, vendor and customer interaction, problem resolution, executing 3rd party & agent buys.
- Utilizes either Thermo Fisher Scientific’s order/inventory management platform and/or customer ordering system.
- Perform laboratory services such as glassware collection/cleaning, biological waste collection/sterilization, media preparation, and/or chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation.
- Delivers direct shipment orders to end users/ performs deliveries as required.
- Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team.
- Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
How will you get here?
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelors Degree preferred with 0-2 years of dynamic proven experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred
- Proven customer service skills
- Computer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Able to fluently read, write and speak English.
- Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Fisher.
- Must possess a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to deal with various levels of personnel at the customer site. Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Four-I Values
- Must possess the operating skills to use hand held scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as vital.
- May pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)
- Able to lift, push and pull 30-50 pounds consistently and use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks.
- Must be able to work overtime as the need arises.
